Charles Yue, Village Schools Associate Teacher

Charles joined the Village Schools of the Bible as an Associate Teacher, when in late 2001 he committed to be faithful, available and teachable in response to the Lord's call to make disciples of all nations (by) teaching them towards obedience. As a Village School student in 1994, Charles yearned not as much for the knowledge of Scriptures as the passion for the Word, and experienced a spiritual transformation from believing a revealed truth to believing in a revealed God.

It seems that the Lord has prepared Charles for such a challenge as this. He came from a family with a belief in life-long learning and a love for the art of teaching. His own education led him to graduate degrees in systems engineering, business administration and counseling psychology, while his work experience has evolved from sales management to human development, into a full-time ministry of counseling and discipleship.

Now working with students at the Village Schools, his focus is on changing hearts versus gaining insights, measuring their progress in terms of faith and obedience. His approach is motivational and experiential versus informational or instructional, striving to teach with authority, conviction and enthusiasm. Addressing relevant life applications, he challenges and encourages students to develop a more intimate relationship and daily walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Charles was born in Shanghai, China after the country had come under communist rule. Today over fifty years later, he still carries deep in his heart a love for his people and culture, as well as a burden for taking the gospel to "every tribe and tongue" throughout China. Even as he teaches with the English translation of the Bible, he labors at studying the Word in his native language. Charles and his wife Mary Jane are blessed with 5 children, ages 14 to 25.
