Seminar- Malachi to Matthew
As a person begins reading the New Testament, several facts emerge that are not discussed in the Old Testament. Who are the Pharisees and from where did they come? Who are the Sadducees? From where did the concept of water baptism originate? How and when did the Romans make their entrance onto the landscape of Palestine? This class will provide answers to these and other questions about the time between the testaments.

Brown Bag Lunch and Discussion on Understanding Prophecy
Those who want to better understand prophecy are invited to a monthly brown bag lunch at the Village Center. Luncheons will continue throughout the summer and are held the fourth Tuesday of each month (May 27, June 24, July 29 and August 26, 2008), from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Three books will guide our discussion: The Bible; Are We Living in the End Times?, written by Tim LaHaye; and The Apocalypse Code, written by Hank Hanegraaf. We will seek to better understand the principles that help us to relate what is happening in our world. Please call the Village Center office to register for these luncheons. Beverages will be furnished.
Reader’s Club
You are invited to come and join us for a lively discussion on a book that is making a difference in people’s lives. Each club meeting is scheduled for the third Tuesday from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at the Village Center. Our final date for the Spring 2008 meetings is May 20. For more information or to register, please contact the Village Schools office.
May 20 – William Wilberforce: A Hero for Humanity, written by Kevin Belmonte. This
is an important biography about one of the great leaders of the last part of the 18th and early part of the 19th century. He stood alone…yet changed his world. There is much we can learn from his life.
Check the Reader's Club page for discussion questions.
ISRAEL TOUR 2009 -
Theme: Discovering God in His Land
March 4-16, 2009
Space on the tour is limited to 45 people. As of April 1, the tour is full. But, if you are interested in going, please call our office (952-540-9460) and we will put your name on a waiting list in case there are cancellations. Join us for two weeks filled with discovering God among the stones and people
of His land. It will be a time that will forever change your life!
Highlights of the trip will include: Joppa, Caesarea, and Mt. Carmel (we might meet Elijah here). Then it is off to Acre to learn about the time of the Crusaders. In Safed we will spend two nights in a fabulously refurbished 18th century Turkish Castle. In Galilee, among sites selected include: Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes, Korazim, Dan, Hazor, the Golan Heights, Caesarea Philippi, and a boat cruise on the Sea of Galilee. Then it is off to the Dead Sea where you can enjoy a leisurely float in one of the most unusual bodies of water in the world; or how about a jeep ride through the rugged Mountains of Judea? We will visit Masada and look for the ghost of Herod the Great. Weather permitting, we will climb back into the fortress of David at EnGedi. Our journey to Jerusalem will take us via Beersheba and the Well of Abraham, through the Valley of Elah (we will be looking for David and Goliath), and then into Jerusalem itself. We will be staying at the world renowned King David Hotel during our four
days in Jerusalem.
Cost for these 14 exciting days is $4,648 including taxes and tips. Even with the dollar falling against the Israeli shekel, Israel is still a travel-bargain.
